Sacraments of the Church
Sacraments of Initiation
Baptism
Baptism serves as the first sacrament one receives when entering the Catholic Faith. It is a sacrament of initiation, meaning once you received it, you officially enter into the body of Christ, the Catholic Church.
Holy Eucharist
In the celebration of the Eucharist, bread and wine become the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit and the instrumentality of the priest. The whole Christ is truly present -- body, blood, soul, and divinity
Confirmation
In the Sacrament of Confirmation, one of the three Sacraments of Initiation, Catholics are sealed with the Holy Spirit and strengthened for service to the Body of Christ.
Sacraments of Healing
Penance and Reconciliation
The Sacrament of Confession, also known as Reconciliation, is a beautiful opportunity that allows all of us to renounce the sins we have committed and seek absolution. In His endless mercy and love, God absolves us of our sins and forgives our mistakes, allowing us to reconcile with the Church and God.
Anointing of the Sick
In the Church's Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick, through the ministry of the priest, it is Jesus who touches the sick to heal them from sin – and sometimes even from physical ailment.
Sacraments of Service
Holy Matrimony
The Sacrament of Marriage is a covenant. The marriage covenant refers to the relationship between the husband and wife, a permanent union of persons capable of knowing and loving each other and God.
Holy Orders
Ordination to the priesthood is always a call and a gift from God.
